Materials Needed:
- 100% ribbon yarn (color: Anthracite gray suggested) from Hobby.com
- 9 mm (US size N) crochet hook
- Scissors
Instructions:
Magic Circle:
- Make a magic circle or ring.
- Chain 1.
- Perform the herringbone half double crochet (HHDC) stitch 8 times into the circle.
- Yarn over, insert the hook from the front through the loop.
- Yarn over, draw through the stitch and the first loop on the hook.
- Yarn over, and draw through the remaining loops.
- Pull the tail to tighten the circle, then slip stitch into the first chain to close the round.
For Increase:
- Chain 1 to start the new round.
- HHDC twice in each stitch around the circle (16 stitches total).
- Join with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Increase Pattern:
- Start with 2 HHDC in the first stitch, then 1 HHDC in the next stitch.
- Repeat this pattern (two HHDC, one HHDC) around the circle until the end of the round.
- End with 24 stitches; join with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Increase Pattern Continues
Follow the pattern:
- 2 HHDC in the next stitch, then 1 HHDC in each of the next two stitches.
- Repeat this pattern (two HHDC, one HHDC, one HHDC) around the circle.
- End with 32 stitches; join with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Expanding the Basket:
- HHDC twice in the first stitch, then HHDC once in each stitch until the last stitch.
- HHDC twice in the last stitch.

- Finish round 11 with 46 stitches; join with a slip stitch and chain 1.
Shaping the Top:
