Materials Needed:

• Two colors of DK (double knitting) yarn
• 3.5 mm crochet hook
• Darning needle
• Pins (optional)

Front Panel:

Start the Project:

• Chain the length of half of your waist, ensuring the chain count is an odd number. If you are a size small, try chaining 45.
• Add 3 additional chains.

First Row:

• Double crochet into the fifth chain from the hook.
• Chain one, skip a stitch, and then double crochet. Repeat this pattern across the entire row.

Subsequent Rows:

• Continue by chaining 3 at the beginning of each new row and performing the double crochet, chain one, skip a stitch pattern for 13 more rows. Remember to double crochet into the spaces rather than the stitches.

Star Graph:

• After completing 13 rows, you can adjust the length according to your preference.
• To add the star pattern, mark the center of your work and count four spaces to the left and right.

Switch colors at each marker:

• On reaching a marker, don’t pull through the last two loops with the current color. Attach the new color with a slip knot and complete the stitch with both colors. Cut off the original color and continue with the new one.
