Materials Needed:
- Amigurumi yarn (Circle brand recommended, tex 492)
- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Silicone glue
- Pliers
- Half a pearl for eyes (or another type of eyes)
- Fine cleamil thread to embroider the face
- Keychain ring
Instructions:
Start with a magic ring of 6 single crochets (sc).
- Use a thread to mark the beginning of the second round.
Round 2:
- Make 2 sc in each base stitch for a total of 12 sc.
For Round 3:
- Alternate between 1 sc and an increase 6 times to have a total of 18 stitches.
Round 4:
- 2 sc and then an increase, repeated 6 times for a total of 24 sc.
- Close the magic ring well and secure with a knot, or weave in the end if preferred.
Round 5 & 6:
Stitch over stitch for two rounds, maintaining 24 stitches.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail of about 30 to 40 cm after finishing the sixth round.
- Make a second piece identical to the first one, but do not cut the thread yet.
- Join the two parts by positioning the needle a stitch after the last stitch in the round.
- Loop and make a sc, marking this first single crochet.
- Continue for 20 more stitches.
Creating the heart shape:
- For rounds 7 to 9, sew the two parts together using the 42 stitches from the previous rounds, removing markers except for the first one.
Round 10 & on:
- Start reducing to shape the heart by making single crochets and invisible decreases following the pattern (increase and decrease counts will change as you shape the heart).
Final Rounds:
- Continue making decreases to close up the heart.
For the legs:
- Start with a magic ring of 6 sc.
- Follow by making chains and increases to form the legs, finishing with a round that includes decreases.
For the arms:
- Similar to the legs, start with a magic ring and follow the increasing patterns, ending with fewer rounds than the legs.
- Finish by making four cords, each with 17 chains and knots at the ends to attach them to the heart.
Assembly:
- Sew arms and legs to the heart accordingly.
- Glue half-pearls for eyes (or attach safety eyes), using silicone glue.
- Position eyes above the arms, ensuring even placement.
Final Touches:
- Attach the keychain ring.
- Embroider the face as desired with the fine cleamil thread.
