Crochet Turkey Pattern For Interior Decoration

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in brown, yellow, orange, and red
• 3.5 mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Darning needle
• Stuffing

Abbreviations:

• SC: Single crochet
• inc: Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
• dec: Decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
• ch: Chain

Body of the Turkey:

With a 3.5 mm hook, chain 4 and slip stitch into the first chain to make a magic circle.

Increase into every stitch (2 SC into every stitch) and place a stitch marker to mark the beginning and end of each round.

Round 2:

• Increase into the first stitch (2 SC), then work 1 SC and repeat.

Round 3:

• Increase into the first stitch (2 SC), then work 2 SC and repeat.

For Round 4:

• Increase into the first stitch (2 SC), then work 3 SC and repeat.
• Repeat rounds 5 and 6 four more times.

Round 12:

• Single crochet 4 stitches, then do a silent decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together).

Round 13:

• Attach safety eyes, single crochet 3 stitches, then decrease and repeat.

For Round 14:

• Fasten off and sew the top half to the back of the beak.

Mouth of the Turkey:

• Use a darning needle and red yarn to thread through and create the mouth.

Legs of the Turkey:

• Chain 4 and slip stitch into the first chain to make a magic circle.
• Increase into every stitch (2 SC into each stitch) and place a stitch marker.

Round 2:

• Increase into the first stitch (2 SC), then work 1 SC and repeat.

Round 3:

Increase into the first stitch (2 SC), then work 2 SC and repeat.

For Round 4:

• Work one row of single crochet into every stitch.

Round 5:

• Single crochet 2 stitches, then decrease into the next 2 stitches and repeat.
• Add filling to the bottom of the leg.
• Single crochet 1 round.
• Single crochet 7 rounds, adding filling as you go.
• Finish the leg by adding filling, cutting a long tail of yarn, fastening off, and stitching up the top.

Attaching the Legs:

• Place the legs in a V shape and sew them onto the bottom of the turkey.

Tail of the Turkey:

• Work 2 triple crochets into the middle of the gap of the previous row, chain 2, and work another 2 triple crochets into the next gap.

• Attach the yellow yarn and chain 3.
• Work 1 double crochet into the first stitch, don’t chain 1, and work 2 double crochets into the gap of the previous row.
• Chain 2 and make another 2 double crochets into the same gap.
• Chain 1, miss the next gap, and into the middle of the gap in the previous row create 2 double crochets, chain 2, and another 2 double crochets into the same gap.
• Repeat until the end of the row.
• Don’t chain 1, just create 2 double crochets into the last gap.
• Attach the orange yarn and repeat steps 7-11.
• Attach the red yarn and repeat steps 7-11.
• Fasten off and tidy up all the loose yarns.

Attaching the Tail:

• Use a darning needle to stitch the tail onto the back of the turkey.
