Pattern Instructions:
Foundation Chain:
- Measure the desired length of your sweater from the top of your shoulder to where you want it to end.
- Make a slip knot and chain the equivalent length of your measurement.
Ribbing:
- Skip the first chain and work 6 sc across.
- Chain 1, turn.
- Work 6 sc in the back loop of each stitch across.
- Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the ribbing section reaches your desired length.
Main Body:
Row 1:
- Yarn over, insert hook in the next stitch, pull through, yarn over, and pull through two loops. This stitch is called the “yarn over slip stitch” or “half double crochet slip stitch”. Repeat this stitch across the row.
Row 2:
- Chain 1, turn. Work the same “yarn over slip stitch” in the back loop of each stitch across.
- Continue alternating between rows 1 and 2 until you reach the desired length for the body.
Sleeves:
- Measure the desired length of your sleeves from your biceps to your cuff.
- Chain the desired length for your sleeve.
- Work the same ribbing pattern as for the body (slip stitch instead of single crochet).
- Continue working until you reach the desired width for your sleeve.
- Repeat for the second sleeve.
Attaching Sleeves:
- Lay your sweater flat with the wrong side facing up.
- Find the middle of each sleeve and attach it to the corresponding underarm seam of the sweater using slip stitches.
- Join the rest of the sleeve to the body, working in the front loop of the stitches.
- Repeat for the other sleeve.
Finishing:
- Weave in all remaining ends.
- Block the sweater if desired.
